BOTOX Anti Wrinkle Treatment
BOTOX is perhaps the best known and most popular non-surgical procedure. It is a simple, non-surgical, anti-wrinkle treatment that can temporarily smooth lines for both men and women. One 10-minute treatment, a few tiny injections, and within days there's a noticeable improvement in those persistent frown lines.
The treatment is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those lines to form over time.It works by temporarily reducing the contractions of the muscles that cause persistent lines.

Every time we frown, squint or smile the skin is creased in the areas of greatest use. The more expressive you are the deeper the lines become. These expression lines include crow's feet, worry lines and frown lines. As we age, collagen production slows down and the problem accelerates as we are less able to repair the damage.
Our treatment reversibly freezes or relaxes the muscle. Therefore it may be used to treat facial lines caused primarily by muscles that have no signature function. An example of this is deep creases between the eyebrows, crows feet wrinkles and forehead lines.
Injecting into frown lines has proven to be successful. Results may be obtained after a single injection session which may last three to six months. The effect of the injection may take up to 21 days to work. Some patients with very powerful muscles may not see a complete relaxation of the targeted areas, but subsequent injections will further weaken them. In rare cases, some patients may need a repeat injection within four weeks if there has been little response.

How does it work?
The treatment temporarily blocks the nerve endings to the facial muscles relaxing them. By reducing muscle movement, the skin stops being creased and is allowed to recover, causing the lines to soften and fade away. Over time the patient can retrain the facial muscles to be less expressive by breaking the habit of subconscious overuse.
What happens during treatment?
The treatment involves injecting very small doses via an extremely fine needle into the appropriate area. This sometimes causes a brief stinging sensation. Discomfort is so mild that anesthesia is not required. Normal activity can be resumed immediately after the procedure. The full effect on the muscle develops over the following 2-14 days.
WILL IT LAST?
Gradually over 4-6 months the effects will fade and the muscle action will return. When the lines start to re-appear a simple repeat treatment is required to maintain the effect.
Are there any side-effects?
No serious side effects have ever been reported, when using our cosmetic treatments. Minor side effects occur in a small number of patients and are always fully reversible within a few days to a few weeks. Immediately after the injection there may be mild swelling and redness which subsides within a few days. Bruising at the injection site may occur; this can be covered with makeup if needed. Rarely a temporary drooping of the eye lid may occur, this resolves within a few weeks. Very rarely following repeated injections the patient may develop antibodies to the treatment, this makes subsequent treatments ineffective.
