Women’s hair loss is different to men’s. It is often triggered by a reaction to intense stress on the body’s physical or hormonal systems (e.g. menopause or illness ),or as a reaction to medication.

The hair loss pattern in women is different to the typical receding hairline and crown loss in men. Instead, we more often see a general thinning of women’s hair, with loss predominantly over the top and sides of the head.

The hair may regrow, after some time as before, come back in patchy areas, or not regrow at all.

The effects of thinning hair or hair loss can be profound and cause loss of confidence or even depression.

The Consultation: Women’s Hair Loss:

You will meet with one of our Patient Care Co-ordinators who will discuss with you the treatment available. They will take photographs and then take these to the surgeon for him to diagnose exactly how many grafts will be needed in order to achieve the best end result. As with all surgery, your general health will also be assessed and the surgeon will advise if you are a suitable candidate for surgery.
